Gallaudet University, the world’s only liberal arts university specifically for deaf and hard of hearing students, is committed to making its facilities responsive to and expressive of the unique “deaf ways-of-being.” To lead the university toward this long-term goal HB / a+p is conducting a three-year long collaborative process to create the “Gallaudet, Deaf/Diverse Campus Design Guide.” The Design Guide will provide architectural and campus design standards for new university projects and renovations to make Gallaudet’s campus environment better attuned to Deaf, visual and tactile sensibilities.
